Pastor Steve Larson serves as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Morris, Illinois, and has faithfully ministered to his community for decades with a deep commitment to Christ and people. With a background in youth ministry spanning from 1984 to 2000, Pastor Steve has a long-standing passion for teaching, discipleship, and investing in the next generation. Since becoming senior pastor in 2008, he has continued to shepherd the Church while extending his care far beyond the church walls.

In addition to his pastoral role, Pastor Steve has served as chaplain to the Morris Police Department since 2001 and the Morris Fire Protection District since 2005. Known as a “first responder to the first responders,” he is often present in the most difficult moments, offering prayer, counsel, and the hope of Jesus to first responders and grieving families alike. His ministry is marked by compassion, humility, and a steady presence in times of crisis.

Pastor Steve and his wife, Kristi, have been married since 1983 and are blessed with five children and several grandchildren. A familiar and trusted voice at Family and Youth Bible Camp, he brings biblical truth, real-life experience, and a shepherd’s heart to every message he shares.
